AMP is meant to be the next Big Thing, but isn’t much popular around webmasters because of some facts like high bounce rate, lower earning than normal pages, and the main problem was, it supported only ads provided by Google Adsense. Those are still a big problem now, but this speed optimization open source ( so called ) platform now supports a new ad format named “A4A” which stands for Ads for AMP I guess.

On a blog post in 19th July 2016, They shared a new format for ads, which seems promising. On a Gif image they shared, it looks like ad loads under 0.50 seconds while a normal ad takes around 3 second. We can call it a boost in digital advertisement technology.

They wrote “AMP’s original goal was to lift up the user experience across as much web content as possible. This meant we couldn’t just build some idealistic system–existing monetization methods would need to be supported in order to get the wide adoption that would lead to widespread user experience improvements. On today’s web that meant: AMP had to support advertising.”

The Big Thing is, This section is actually open sourced and google inviting other ad networks to join them and try A4A for their publishers. This is Good, and personally I’m interested to try this at least one of my site. But as long as AMP is only for News related sites, not a large number of publishers are gonna have this on their site.
